He obviously had no real home squeezed lemonade. That would have fixed everything. Douche bag.

Gidday Richard

I feel for the guy.
I had an Austin Kimberley like that.

Clutch went at 13,000 miles (just out of warranty ... ).

The twin 1 3/4" SUs were on a straight manifold, and the engine died at anything approximating a quick stop every time.

It took nearly 2 years, but eventually BMC fixed everything, including a new sloping manifold.

Real flaming lemon - last one off the line one Friday night, as we say ...

After that, it lasted around 150,000 miles.

Potentially superb design ruined by lousy build quality and under-engineering of some absolutely critical parts.

Thanks and have a great day :iconwink:

Fortunately we have a lemon law in Oz...if too many things go wrong on the manufacturer is required to buy it back.

Maybe he doesnt like lemonade??? :lol:

Good thing I know now, maybe they will replace my eng gearbox, supsension and body. lol

Or maybe I should get a Camry :lol:

All this talk about getting a Camry- maybe the end of the world really is nigh. The thought of a hundred Camry's doing 20 below in the right lane on the freeway is enough to think that Armageddon is preferable

G'day again Rally

LOL. I don't disagree.

But my last speeding ticket was for 138 km/h in our Camry ... about 12 years ago. It is actually an extremely pleasant (and economical) car to drive on the open road. 2.2L 4 cylinder with slushbox. On the open road with a full load of people and luggage, and air-con on most of the way, we got about 7.1 L/100 Kms from Adelaide to Melbourne ...

BTW, I wasn't doing 138 km/h. I was doing 117 km/h, which I admitted to in court. :censored: :censored: :censored: bloody lying ******* of a copper; and a sado-masochistic magistrate (since removed from the position) :madred: :yell: :furious: :catfight:. They won.
$7,000 upfront to take it on appeal to the Supreme Court. The Barrister reckoned I would win because there were at least 7 misfindings in law; and the bullying and insults of the Magistrate went to his credibility. Also the minor "detail" that the police officer altered the copy of the summons that was served on me, AFTER it had been filed with the court ...
Just too much money at the time.

lol I'd rather drive my V6 Camry the 4500km from Toowoomba to Perth everytime instead of my XT Foz because it is roomier, has more comfortable seats, is smoother and better riding, is quieter with heaps less road noise and is more economical. It is just so much more relaxing over long trips. So I guess there is a place and a reason for both of them.

Im really not a fan of the Toyota Camry's or even the new Aurion. After driving both and being in a quite a few I just don't like them. I find them un comfortable, the 3.0l 6cylinder is gutless for a 6 cylinder and the 2.4 4cylinder with an auto is shocking. Plus being a sedan the boot isn't big enough for my needs.

That said though I wouldn't call them bad cars. Just don't get me started on the Nissan Xtrail!!! :yell::furious: POS

I've driven both the 3.5 litre Aurion (Camry) and the 2.4 version. The V6 had heaps of grunt, was very smooth but had severe axle tramp in the wet. The gear stick was mounted in such a way that my knee kept knocking it out of position. The rear window was so angled that on wet days it was very hard to see out of. The dash looked very cheap and nasty. The 6 speed auto suffered the fault all autos I have driven does- it does not do what I want it to when I want it to. the 2.4 litre was noisy- and not a nice noise either. These cars do not excel in any one area except reliability. The 2.4 litre especially does not encourage spirited driving, while the V6 feels a bit nose heavy.

Contrast that car with the previous generation Liberty and the differences are enormous. The Liberty is far nicer to drive, beautifully balanced with a far nice interior and exterior. It is all class and just as reliable as the Camry. And the Liberty does not suffer the syndrome that forces the car to hold up traffic by travelling below the speed limit alongside the car next to it while a steadily growing queue of frustrated drivers piles up behind it.

So its not just me that gets stuck behind them on the highway? I find that they sit in the overtaking lane and do about 0.5km/h faster then the car they are overtaking, they eventually get past the car but take several minutes doing so, then they keep sitting in the right lane grrrr

Haha, I have a rule of thumb...The more prestigious the car, the worse the driver!

Volvo = bad
Lexus = very bad
BMW = terrible
Mercedes = keep a great distance. Not only are they the worst drivers but have the money & insurance not to care!

Of course, add a P plater & the fun begins :raspberry:
