Gidday all, I just stumbled across advanced headers based in Adelaide. They do a nice looking set of extractors for impreza/Foz someone is selling them for $385 delivered on au fleabay.

Anyone know if they're any good?

Any loss of ground clearance?

Taza had a set of extractors (not sure of brand) that he took off cos of noise & clearance. Maybe send him a PM

Borla replicas. I'm pretty sure that's what he had. It reduced the clearance in front of the sump as both pipes from the passenger's side of the engine pass around the front of the sump to the driver's side. Look them up on fleabay to check them out, I'm pretty sure they're always on sale there.

Cheers

Bennie

Correct on all accounts Bennie, I think he lost about 40mm clearance. the advanced headers run straight back though so they should be OK.

I think I'll give them a shot and see how they go.

Yes I had Borla replicas. About 400$ from eBay. I list about 40mm of clearance so I took them off. But if it wasn't for the loss of clearance I would of kept them but with the stock muffler. My straight through muffler was b*llsh*t loud. Couldn't even here the stereo.
But if I hadn't lost any clearance they would be there. Although not loud with the stock exhaust it had a nice deep little rumble :P
I still have the muffler though sitting in the shed. Haha

Fitted these bad bays this week so here's a before and after vid.

they actually are for MY06-MY07 and mine is MY08 with a pre cat in the stock manifold so there was a little bit of cutting and welding involved. I also extended my O2 sensors but I should have just unwound the wiring harnes so the connectors would be further back.

I think they really bring out the boxer rumble without being louder.

Ground clearance is better.

The butt dyno says there's slightly more power too.

Gee, for a young bloke it doesn't get any worse than that!

It was seriously deafening! Considering my stereo is about 8x better than stock I'm sure you could imagine how loud the exhaust was :raspberry:
I like the sound of it stock, nice and quite :iconwink:
My stereo uses so much power that my alternator can't keep up with the headlights running as they dim right down and dim to the beat of the music :rotfl:

Sort of. The sump guard still sits under them but there's more clearance between it and the headers. Now the sump is the low point.
