Just returned from a most enjoyable weekend away at Newnes. The Forrie once again was playing with the big boys- and once again did not put a wheel wrong. A number of the others when I spoke to them expected me to have difficulties, and were surprised I did not. Of course, on the highway the Forrie creams them, yet could go everywhere the tracks took us. The one exception was where the track had been washed away by recent heavy rain and no one even tried.

There were so many water splashing everywhere- I cannot remember seeing so many puddles before. One was quite deep- water up over the bonnet. But really nothing bothered the little Forrie. When we had to do the river crossing, again the water came up over the bonnet. The return trip was a little easier- maybe the river level had dropped. A great campfire and good company rounded out a nice weekend away. Here are some photos- more to come when other send them to me

Great trip report & pics Rally
Your Forry looks great too, now that you have the front bar fitted :raz:

If it's the river crossing I'm thinking about, it's a beauty :iconwink:

Is it the one just down from the Newnes Hotel, with the sandy entry & exit that leads to the historic walk & brick ovens ?

If my memory serves me correctly, there's a great camp site there too

Looks like you had a great relaxing w-end away & great weather too :raz:
Will be great to see some more pics of the trip, once they become available

Regards
Mr Turbo

Yes- that is the river crossing. Bit higher than usual I think with all the rain. Heavy rain/thunderstorm last night with plenty of lightning as you'd expect

Great photos Rally. You seem to have a pretty good eye for lizards, a lot of people miss em & even fewer manage to photograph em.

Great shot of the mountaintop breaking through the clouds...

Love the mud on the bonnet lol. Do you have a snorkel?

Bull bar looks great :iconwink:

With all the water crossings I have done of late, I might have to go and give Kevin's car a closer look as I am worried about water ingestion. Been too lazy to do diff breathers so I might need to change the oil. Again.

Looks like a fantastic time!!!

Front bar looks great. Glad you were able to take it out right off the bat.

Can't wait to see more pics.

A little off topic, just noticed Rally has topped the 2000 posts mark :monkeydance:

Congrats & thanks for the interesting comments & helpful advice

Here's another one of the Forrie in action.

EDIT- Problem with photo

Love the mud on the bonnet

Nice little trip. It's a great area, there's still stuff around there I haven't seen.
