MY03 XS Forester

We brought it around a year ago and my wife uses it as her run around car. After moving to Adelaide we decided to make it a little bit more off road friendly so we could get out and explore the state a little.

The car was completely stock with all the factory goodies, leather, sunroof etc.
Since then we have added a aftermarket head deck to get rid off that outdated tape deck, windows tinted and new rubber Yoko Geolanders 215/65/16s for more grip and little extra clearance.

After testing the tyres on the sand (Goolwa beach) they worked brilliantly even though I only aired down to 30psi as the beach is hard packed, until you head up towards the end at the mouth of the murray where it was very boggy and churned up, we powered through in 1st and made it through and back ok.

Next on the list will be a sump guard and lift kit .

Looks good Leon.

The Geolanders are pretty good arent they. So did you get all the way to the mouth? Meant to have some pretty good fishing there, esp for huge mulloway.

A sump guard is a good mod as the plastic one has a terrible reputation for ripping off.

A lift kit would round it off nicely

Yep, we got all the way. I really should of dropped the tyre pressure a lot more though and being summer the sand tracks were deep and loose I didn't think we would of got as far as we did. I took the plastic one off for now and I'm going to secure it down more with cable ties.

fishing is great at the mouth. people were lining the banks.

Nice Forester Leon.

30PSI??? far out, try that in the soft sand here and you would make it 3 metres onto the beach. haha

The Geolanders certainly are great tyres!! 2" of lift and she'll go great in the deeper sand tracks.

Welcome Leon - gee that car looks familiar; don't know why - it'll come back to me!

^^Maybe because of the colour ??

Great pic mate, it's like a picture postcard :raz:

Yeah in hindsight we should of drove at around 16psi or so. I'm really happy with the tyres, we hit a few rutted out tracks around here and they performed really well over standard rubber, especially since we did the same tracks on standard tyres.

The front bumper is already scratched up front a few descents (I really need to check clearance before committing).

Haha, ive done that with the bumper too. My back ones all cracked also :raspberry:
With 16PSI the car will go anywhere on the sand  They are great tyres, Everyone I know who has them loves them. The only person I know who isn't fond of them is a guy running the Light Truck version. Says the ride is now rubbish and not very comfortable, but what do you expect when you get 20mm of tread on the things

I have to say I really like that silver with those rims, its one nice combination :iconwink:
