Just a few short videos I shot a few months back after my Ironman 35mm lift springs went in. Nothing particularly wild, but it should give a rough idea of what the car was able to handle with some minor improvements in approach, departure, and breakover angles.

Note that all of these were taken with it running on stock struts with approximately 127,000 miles on them, and without switching on the 4EAT lockup mod. Sorry for the lousy camera work; was driving one-handed with my phone in the other.

In the third video, there's one spot where you'll hear a bit of wheelspin. It's difficult to tell what's going on from the video, but there were alternating ruts in the direction of travel; that sound was when the MPT kicked in and sent power to the rears when the fronts started to lose grip.

Cool vids casm :)
Looks like you had a great time out there on the dirt mate :)

G'day casm :welcome:

Nice vids ;)
How do you find the Ironman 35mm lift springs? Lots of people here have Kings or Dobinsons. Finally, what colour are they? lol :iconwink:

Thanks  I've actually pushed it quite a bit harder than that since then (including a trip to Moab, Utah), but those were all both-hands-on-the-wheel trips. No video of them, unfortunately. If anyone has an idea for a decent dashboard mount to hold a phone so that I can record video while driving, I'm all ears - haven't found anything that'll come close to working, and I hate the windscreen-mount holders.

So far (and with roughly 10,000 miles on them) I'm happy. Usefully-stiffer than the stock ones they replaced (at 126,000 miles), though I'd really need to do the struts to get a good feel for them. They've settled out by about 8-10mm, which isn't bad. Did a long coast-to-coast-and-up-to-Canada run (approx. 4300 miles) on them a few weeks after they were put on; this is also where I did the side trip to Moab mentioned above. Can't fault 'em either on the pavement or off, though I would like a little more stiffness in them.

We can get the Kings here, but they're nearly twice the price of the Ironman springs for the same amount of lift. When I got them there was literally no online feedback for them on a Forester that I could find, so decided to be the guinea pig and was pleasantly-surprised. I've never had any experience with the Kings, so can't comment as to how they compare, unfortunately.

Oh, and they're yellow
