Hi all. Was looking at buying a 2" strut lift kit from Hi-Rise Subarus and pairing it with standard King Springs to lift my 1998 Forester.

Firstly, does this sound like a good idea? Secondly, where is the best place to buy the King Springs (KSFR-28 and KSRS-33) from online?

Thanks in advance,

Nick

Hi Nick, Welcome to offroadsubarus.
There are quite a few of us who have lifted our 1st Gen Foresters

I don't think Hi-Rise Subaru is around anymore, haven't been for sometime but im not 100% sure on this. If you send a Private Message to Bodge(Tim) on here he makes 2" lift blocks that will fit your Forester.

For the Kings you could trying giving Kings a call and asking. I know Supercheap Auto can order them in for you if you have a store down in Tasi. Otherwise ebay??

If your 98 is a Limited model then you will need new rear shock/strut because you can't have lift with the self-leveling ones that come with the Limited model

That would be you best bet I think

With the 2" strut tops, definitely have a chat with Bodge (supporting vendor) I'm sure he'll be able to look after you :)

Thanks for the replies. I will give Supercheap a visit (we do have them) and see if i can get a price from them. I will also contact Bodge about the kit. It is a limited model so i might see if i can get some KYB rear struts. Thanks again for the info.

Cheers, Nick

G'day Nick :welcome:

That looks good, retail is I think about $150 pair.

Could I suggest HD (raised) springs rear to stop the rear sagging when full of gear. Also, the rear tends to drop when going up a steep incline due to the weight being centered further back.

ATM I have raised Kings front & rear but will be replacing the fronts with standard height Kings when I put in a 2" lift (probably from Bodge).

If you need rear struts I suggest you get struts/springs all together & haggle hard lol. I got mine from Autobarn & got an excellent price from them.

Are you putting them in yourself? If not, a suspension specialist may be competitive as they can get em wholesale.

Thanks Nachaluva. I will look into rear HD springs. We have an Autobarn here so i might go in and get a price for springs and struts.

Not putting them in myself I have a brilliant mechanic who is going to do it for me I am just sourcing the parts.

Thanks

I'd suggest calling around elsewhere to get prices, haggling as you go. Then call in there & ask them "what is the very best you can do". Worked for me lol
