G'Day from WA,

I'm looking at a car at a dealer in Villawood NSW from 3500Km away and I cant take it for a test drive, if someone could take half an hour to kick the tyres and put it through its paces I'd apreciate it. I mainly want to know how the manual gearbox sounds and downshifts etc and if its got plenty of power and drives well.

I'd certainly shout you a few cold ones when I come over to pick it up.

I can PM the details or call me on 'Oh for won oh three hundred seven oh too'

Cheers Seanan.

A mate of mine does vehicle testing for a living- and he knows Subarus backwards. He will charge you for it but I highly recommend him. Try Dave on 0418 648 105

David will be performing a vehicle inspection on Friday.

You can't put a price on peace of mind.

I agree, getting a pro to have a look for peace of mind is the best bet but I work in Villawood. Not sure I'd buy a car around here LOL.

What car is that you have to buy one from the other side of the country? Must be something at least a bit uncommon.

I think he's looking for an excuse to drive clear across the country :rotfl:

At work we have been looking for a half decent car for one of our employees. Found an MY07 Forrie that Dave will be inspecting for us. It is a poverty pack like mine, but an auto. Goes well. This time we were able to take it on a freeway and no diff noises like mine had when I bought it.

Bugger, it sold.

I really want to do a nullabor run but I,d have to do it twice to get back home.

My wife is heading over to Sydney to help out her friend with her newborn and she'll need a car over there. then i can swap her return ticket for a ticket for me to go there.

The car needs to be a SG (new foresters are soft:sadbanana:) XS luxury manual with the lowest Ks possible and latest compliance date to make the most of a Pre tax leasing arrangement available to me through work. (Tax free fuel makes a trans aus trip so much sweeter) Theres only about four of them for sale in the country at a time so finding an unmolested one in WA is not guaranteed to happen

Now the next best vehicle is in Cooma NSW (near ACT) and I don't suppose Dave will want to drive 600Km to look at a car.

If I cant get them to transport it to sydney Ill hve to change the title of the thread to "Anyone near Cooma"

Ask him is all I can say. I assume you have already rung him anyway then to cancel the inspection.

Cheers but thats the soft one. (what no bites?) bloody good price though.

Ive put a deposit on the one in Cooma pending third party inspection and they have agreed to drive it up to Sydney for the same.

Hey d generate sorry to jack my own thread but are you still running your sls rear end with lifted springs? any probs? :poke:

Mine's just got standard SF Foz struts without any extra canister so pretty sure they aren't self leveling like everyone seems to think they were on the early ones ...... but no, no problems so far whatsoever.

I always look at Pickles "buy it now" because they usually sell them well below car yard prices.
