Its started...bushfire season is here :(

We just had our 1st hot day of the year, some centres were over 40 deg, Warrnambool hit 43 deg. There were several fires in the west of the state & a fire truck got burnt out. Fortunately there have been no injuries, at least none reported.

I know over west has had a few hot days & even some fires but this is the start of our season.

Be aware of fire bans, always extinguish all unattended campfires no matter what the weather, & if the worst happens, you are caught in a fire zone, under no circumstances try to outrun the fire. With the aircon on set on recirc, lie on the floor with wet blankets or towels over you till the firefront passes.

Lets all keep our eyes out for smoke & if you see anything call it in to the CFA or 000. If you see anyone acting suspiciously, report it immediately or just catch the b*****d! :yell::furious:

This season has the potential to be very bad considering the rain we've had & the resulting growth. If in doubt, play it safe & stay in more easily accessible areas.

Enjoy the great outdoors & stay safe peoples ;)

The very late start to summer means I'd forgotten about the bushfire season. Let's hope the only ones injured this season are those that light them.

Well its summer over here already. We had a nice 43 degrees for 3 days after christmasv:raspberry:

Im not looking forward to bush fire season. The past few years has been terrible with all the homes and lives lost.

Taza, as I have alluded to many times. 43 degrees has not, is not and never will be a "Nice day"! :). Halve it and I'll agree!

Your right Rally, 43 is abit too much. I like the mid to high 30's. Down the beach or around the pool. Im not fond of temps below 15. Too cold.. but im used to the heat not the cold.

I don't mind the heat but yeah, 43 is a touch warm lol
