At a recent track day a Commodore suffered what could have been tragic accident. As it was, only the car was damaged but how luck for the driver nothing entered the cabin. It only happened a couple of weeks ago going by the video, so no word yet as to further details.

Poor old thing just wasn't Holden together
 
as I would say to my Dad who is a Holden lover since the 60's.
"It's only a old Hoden, what do you expect"
 
It's a pretty catastrophic failure. Structurally, the chassis rail is damaged- and it would be interesting to see how they fix that. Obviously the bellhousing has been destroyed, but it looks like the gearbox has suffered serious damage as well. The input shaft and the bearings and seals which support it would be damaged, and potentially even the engine may have been damaged. Other unseen damage could be the floor of the car.
