Hi team,

I have a bit of a woozy for ya,

i fill up the car... the needle goes up to full (duh!) :)
i drive around until the fuel is almost empty or when the fuel light goes on.. which happend to only be 353km!!!!

But then when i fill it up, only 45 litres goes in before the petrol bowser nozzle goes 'click', I calculated this to be approximately 12.7 ish litres per 100... (which is about right for me because i do have a heavy foot and this is driving through the city)

The thing is.... i thought that these Gen 3 outbacks have a 64 litre fuel tank.... And if so, would my fuel sender in the tank be stuffed? I have estimated that i still should get at least another 150 or so km out of the tank... what do you guys average in km for a manual 2.5 gen 3 outback (city/fwy/country driving doesnt matter)

thanks gents (and ladies)

Not sure about the Outbacks, but when the needle on my Forry sits on the empty mark, I can only squeeze 45-50 liters into mine (60 liter tank)

Also, on my Forry (MY05 model) the fuel light is supposed to come on with 9 liters left in the tank (according to the owners manual)

Not sure if this is any help or not.

well that just sucks doesnt it, why have a perfectly balanced car which drives smoothly, have such a poop design flaw? i mean for me, from empty on the guage, i have another 150 nervous km before the fuel light goes on, then only possibly 9km to go till empty (id say outback would be similar to a forry)

My fuel light goes on with about 15 litres left. I see it as a nanny thing. Look at it instead that it is telling you that you have about 100k's till you need to fill up.

I agree with you eddie351gt, but I'd rather have it that way, than it running out of fuel when the gauge is still showing 1/4 or so.
Not only would I be :puke:if that happened, but I'd be really :censored: too.
But just as Rally said, it's probably a nanny thing.

Mr Turbo
