Hi all,

With a 2" strut top lift kit, are the CV joints & drive train going to be ok in the long term? Or they will be worn out a lot faster ?

good question...thats what i wanna know...

I have raised springs (~40mm) & am considering an extra 1" strut lift.

Only done few weeks ago. Rear CV angle is fine but fronts have a bit. They have a lot of forward angle anyway as well as downward so i think they're designed for SOME angle but the worry is lifting adds to this.

Onlt time will tell lol.

What have other members found?

Will be just fine

Probably pushing the limit, but will be OK. I've not had a CV failure in 9 years; it's usually the rubber boots that fail first then it's more practical labour-wise to replace with a complete reconditioned shaft (if you're paying a mechanic that is).

As Kevin said, you should be fine.
I've had 30mm raised springs on my Forry for about 5yrs now, then added 1" strut tops aswell about 2yrs ago, with no real dramas :)

In the 2yrs that I've had both the raised springs (30mm) & the strut tops (1") being fitted, I've never had a CV fail on me. I did rip a rubber boot (front drivers side) though :bcool:
When I had the rubber boot replaced, I also did the CV at the same time, just to be on the safe side :iconwink:

Are you still using the swaybars with the 40mm lift? Or are you using longer end links ?
Ever since having both the spring lift & strut tops fitted, I'm still using the standard (OEM) end links & swaybar on mine for the front. On the rear, I've replaced the end links with longer ones & still have the swaybar on there aswell :)

Why did you replace the links with longer ones? Why only the rear?

Would you recommend to do this?

I only replaced the rear ones due to breaking one.
The longer ones (which are also adjustable) were cheaper than the OEM so I decided to go with them instead :)
Also they had them in stock & I didn't have to wait for them, unlike the OEM ones that needed to be ordered in :iconwink:
