Has anyone put 15x7" wheels on an 09+ (SH) Forester?

I've already commented in a couple of other threads about this, but thought I would throw it open to the wind.

Have never done any sort of 'mods' before, so approaching this with some trepidation. I am "told" the 15x7 wheels will fit if they are competition style (which the ones I am think of are - Speedline rally wheels, designed to wrap around WRX brakes).

They have a slightly larger offset (53mm vs 48mm) - I don't know enough about wheel offsets to know if that is noticable in any way W/R/T handling or durability. It is small enough I doubt it is visible to the eye outside the car.

Assuming the wheels fit, I am planning on installing 215/70-15 snow tires (that's what this whole exercise is about), and again hoping they don't bump, thump or scrape anywhere they shouldn't. These are within 0.4% of OEM size, as long as that extra 5mm of offset doesn't come back to bite me I think I am good.

Would appreciate any comments or suggestions to a complete noob you could offer.

Thx

It's just a standard WRX offset so being the same car underneath you should be pretty safe, I've seen them running up to 225 and the Foz seem to be able to take 70 profile without a problem, I'm running 48's on my WRX, they just stick out 5mm further than the 53's.
