A little excitement came our way this morning when i kept hearing the constant revving of a box truck outside. Looked out my window to finding a couple of clowns getting stuck under a tree when making a turn too sharp.
So i walked on out with a big grin on my face to meet this sad bunch. After talking with the driver for a minute i found out the cause.. "Well i was just talkin to my boss on the phone when i made the turn to sharp and was stuck all of a sudden." I can't imagine driving that size of a truck, shifting gears and trying to talk on cell phone while making a sharp turn is a smart idea.
Anyway's, got my laugh in for the day. I'll remember NOT to call these guys when i need to move

vvv Is it just me, or is there a bit of irony here in their name & slogan??

They must've been more stuck than they looked. They also must've not come to a full stop at that STOP sign, which allowed them to have more speed than they should've, which probably got them wedged in there..

Otherwise, why not just back up and swing out wider??

It's hard to tell from the picture, but the back passenger tires are actually off the ground from pushing into the tree so hard. You can see the front passenger tire is just baaaarely on the ground. They tried putting 2x4's, a railroad tie & some other crap under there to get traction, but all that did was almost start a fire when the wheels started spinning! There wasn't enough power with the added pressure from tilting on the other side to get it to move.
It gave the box a good dent at the top. I think it was wedged just enough though to keep them from being able to move.

This pic might help a bit. You can tell from how it's sitting on this side just how torqed over it is.

Maybe you should've told 'em to "air down" a little, on the driver's side...?

That was actually the first thing i said when i went out there, then i saw the big branch they were on. The branch came out from the trunk straight out, then where the truck hit it, the branch then made a 90 degree turn straight up for about 9", then went straight out over the top of the box, so it was in this "catch". Helluva thing. Like you had to be at the right height to even get wedged in. Guess it was meant to be!

Thats the first thing I thought of too. But after having a second look at it, I don't think it would have helped that much. She's really jammed in by the looks of it

I had the same thought
Classic

DirtyRU you should of got your Foz out with a tow rope and pulled them out from the tree  :raspberry:
Now that would have been embarrassing :rotfl:

Almost as embarrassing as the Series 80 owner who found his car had sunk into the wet grass of the car park. I offered to tow him out in my Falcon but it was too much for the poor coot and instead waited around for a better offer. A bloke with a Jackaroo had a snatch'em but no idea of how to use it. Gee I laughed watching these two drongos trying to get the 'Cruiser out out! I reckon I could have got the Cruiser out in half the time AND still have a clutch as well!

I reeaaally thought about it! I would have made sure that somebody recorded it too! The only thing that kept me from offering was the lack of a descent tow strap. All i had were some tie-down straps that i use for the canoe & after reading the story about the ball-hitch that went through that lady's windshield & smashed her throat in, i didn't want to have a similar experience because of a snapped tie town!

I've often heard about "truck stops" but never ever imagined they were anything like that

He must have hit that corner at a fair pace for the tree to pick up the inside rear wheel as the truck slowed down to a stop!

Good times. Maybe someone should call the mob and see who got their arse chewed out by the boss!

Cheers

What I should do is "Like" their facebook page, then post these pictures on there.. I wonder how long they stay up before the owner removes them!
