I have this plug in my Outback with all the wires live that are required for a trailer plug. Just wondering if it is possible to get a plug to fit it? My auto shop had no idea. And I can't fins a plug that looks the same as this on the internet.

you will have to find one from a wrecker yard. Otherwise do what I did and buy a pack of mini pin connectors from Jaycar and wire each one up individually. Not all connectors will be used.

not sure if your Outback wring will be similar to below:

I saw that one, but it looks like the plug is much smaller then the plug I showed a picture of?

I can't check that plug pins for a couple of days, but I'll see if it is the same.

I ended up doing this. Using pins from a plug out of my Liberty wreck. The pin setup on my plug was different to that table posted above...

I scored myself a brand spanker new OEM Subaru Outback Towbar assembly and wiring loom off ebay for $50 when i bought my car a year ago, the wiring loom simply plugged into the loom you have pictured above:D

I have a Gen3 Heritage and Gen4 Outback PremLux

For the Gen3, I bought a gen4 tow cable, it's a genuine Subaru item (~$30). This only has the mating connector the above plug, the other end is just tails.

I then bought a standard round plug from the local auto store and terminated the OEM loom into the round plug according to the instructions on the back of the pack for the cheapo cable.

This works a treat and there is no messing about.

The whole cable simply just gets tucked in behind the access cover for hte rear light when I'm not towing.

Cheers
Darryl
