This should be interesting! I'm always on the lookout for a good new Beer out there, domestic or international. I wan't to know what people in certain parts of the world are drinking. Forget the commercials that "make" us think Australians drink nothing but Fosters (as i know better :) ), or that mainstream Americans drink nothing more than Budweiser.

Here are a couple Domestic Texas Beers i really enjoy..

*Shiner Bock (really anything Shiner)
*Real Ale Firemans 4 & Devils Backbone
*Saint Arnolds
*Live Oak Brewing Company's Pilz & Hef

Here's a few from other breweries. I'm especially fond of Brews from the Pacific Northwest. Portland, Oregon is like heaven on earth for a beer man :raz:

*Inversion IPA
*Widmer Brothers
*Moosedrool
*Breckenridge Avalanche Ale
*Bluemoon - everything

My favorite local stuff

been digging this a lot this summer.

Funny I should wake up to this, it's been 1 year and 11 months since I've had a beer. Last night I dreamed I drank half of one before I realized what I was doing.:lildevil::bananatoast:

If I was going to jump off the wagon right now, I would run out and get some Anchor Steam, most likely would try and get their Liberty Ale, but it's a little harder to find than the regular Anchor.

So many excellent beers out there, and actually Asheville, where I am now, has some of the finest micro breweries around, sad I haven't been able to try them all.:sadbanana:

Don't drink beer. Or any booze.

At the moment I have a carton of VB (Victoria Bitter to the non-aussies) and Tooheys Extra Dry.
Unfortunately 2 beers which I love isn't available in Australia
Kirin Lager
Alexander Keith's Brown Ale from Nova Scotia

An Old Man and His Beer

Vermont brews:
Long Trail - Anything they make! Yum!
Shed - Double Red Ale

USA:
Sam Adams - Rustic saison
Blue Moon - Belgian White

United Kingdom:
Guinness
Smithwicks
Bellhaven - Wee Heavy Ale

Well done carljwnc :rock::rock:
I too have given up drinking :) Even though its only been 2 months (without a drop) I must say I feel soooooo much better for not having any :quitar:
When I was drinking, I was never much of a beer drinker, I was more of (& always had been) a spirit drinker.
Scotch & Bourbon, or the occasional Rum (or 7-10 or more :o) was my poison.

However, if I had to choose a beer, I'd have a Corona or a Crown.

Regards
Mr Turbo

So what's next Damo- giving the ciggies the flick?

So what's next Damo- giving the ciggies the flick?

Maybe mate maybe, but at the moment, just one thing at a time

That's my next trick. I've got one of those electric cigs and it works pretty good, did a 'test run' on our last beach trip and held up really well. We're off to the beach again tomorrow and this could be it...

But yes mr turbo, one thing at a time. I tried to quit smoking soon after quitting drinking and the results were disastrous.

Sorry for the hijack...back to the beer.:iconwink:

Money is no object? have a Chimay.:bananatoast:

I tried for 20 years to get a mate to stop smoking. Finally he did, but I cannot take the credit. Years of hassling was defeated by one sentence from the doctor. "Looks like you have cancer" and voila- no more ciggies. But you're probably right- one thing at a time

Scotch & Bourbon

Gee, mate. Most people would mix one of those with coke, not with each other. It's no wonder you feel better

Never been a big beer drinker myself with the exception being the odd celebration. I'll have one or two beers occasionally when out but my choice of drink is usually bourbon, not that I drink a lot of that either. A bottle usually lasts me a year. Glass of wine if I'm out at dinner with friends and we're ordering by the bottle.

As for favourite beer, there's a few from micro breweries that friends have put me on to but I can never remember the name of or find in local shops but in mainstream anything that's not dark. Thooeys Extra Dry or James Boags are the usual picks.

Ah, so that explains your username- it's a beer. And here I was thinking you were famous!;)

I went off beer for years till I was in China about 18 months ago were you could buy a Harbin big bottle for 60c on pretty much any street corner, damn that **** is good, I found most Chinese beers the same, nice and mild, here in Thailand I'm drinking Tiger or Tiger light if I can find it but I never drink at home unless I'm out with friends.

I've also become addicted to soda water & lime since I got here.

The National Beer of Texas, LONE STAR. You asked. :rotfl:

Yessir, love that Lone Star brew
The only beer allowed in my cooler when floating down the Guadalupe River!
I remember entering to win this promo they did a couple years ago, never called me out though
