I have had enough of not driving the liberty due to slipping clutch but I'm busted arse at the moment.
I have a clutch plate off a N/A EJ, will I get away with using it if I use my current pressure plate? (assuming it is in ok condition). My engine is a mild EJ20G.
Both are dimensionally identical according to the exedy website.
Anyone know if this would work? I miss driving the old girl...

I don't know what an EJ20G is. So all I can say is that you cannot use a turbo clutch in a non turbo and vice versa as one is pull type and the other is push type.

Bugger
EJ20G is just the early 2 litre turbo motor btw.
I think you just answered my other question for the day, so all is not lost.
Cheers

This all depends on what gearbox is installed though. If it is a pull type clutch that you've got, then the gearbox is built with a different pivot to the push style clutch and hence you'll have to stick with the pull type clutch. The pull type clutch is hydraulic, the push can be hydraulic (later models) or cable.

If you've got a cable clutch you can use the clutch pressure plate from the other EJ. But if you're having slipping clutch issues it will more than likely be a clutch disc that you need. This can be purchased individually for about $80 from memory. This also means that you won't have to change the pressure plate unless there's something really wrong with it...

EJ20G is one of the turbo engine codes ;)

Cheers
