Had a family reunion to go to today up in Gatesville, about 160 miles north. On the way back between Johnson City & Dripping Springs on HWY 290, i had to slam on the brakes & pull a U'ey! I thought maybe it had crash landed in the desert & they were bringin her home! Turns out, it's the new space capsule NASA has designed to replace the space shuttle program. It's gone from California, heading to Kennedy Space Center in Florida. We just happened to be lucky enough to see it & talk to the driver while they were filling up. It's going to be on display tomorrow through Monday in Austin @ the Bob Bullock Museum, then continuing on it's way. Felt pretty good to witness such a thing. This is their facebook page if you wish to read up on & follow them. Pretty cool!

The driver was nice enough to take a picture of us. Not sure why it ended up being so much smaller though. However the ones above were taken with my phone, & the one of us with her cam.

Now that is COOL!!!

Love all the tie down equipment.

When I was 10 or 11, I got to fly with my Uncle in a little Cessna from Knoxville TN to Huntsville AL to see the Space Shuttle 'Enterprise', never was intended to fly (except on the back of a 747), but sure was cool to see. Another Uncle worked for NASA there and we got the full on insider tour.

Wow, that is so different to the (now retired) Space Shuttle

A few years ago now, the Russian Space Shuttle was here in Australia & I was lucky enough to see it when they had it on display.
And the best part was that we were allowed to sit in the pilots chair too :raz:
It was an amazing machine, thats for sure. It's also something that I'll never ever forget seeing.

Regards
Mr Turbo
