Anybody in here a Snowboarder & if so, what do you think about Arbor Snowboards?

I've been looking for a good intermediate board (being from TX, i don't get to get out a lot, but i am descent).
I've taken a liking to them, simply because they have some really good looking wood finished boards. Or, if you happen to know of some other makers with good looking wood finishes, i'd appreciate the help!
It's been so damn hot here, i'm already planning for next winter! 15 out of the last 21 days has been above 100 degrees fahrenheit (about 38 Celsius) & it's only early June. Usually we don't see this kind of consistant heat until late July-August. Going to be a S***** summer! :furious:

I sell these at my work, and own and ride 2 of them. They are my favorite boards. Great guys own the company.

Now you are gonna have to hook a brother up! I've only rented/ borrowed boards before & havent really found one that seemed to fit right. What would you recommend for someone 6', 185lbs, with an 11-12 size boot? I've read so many diff. things on sizing, but have yet to get a good education on it. Not even the places i've rented from in Breck or at Copper Mountain have given me much info.

I've never been snowboarding (or to the snow :o) but it does look like a lot of fun. Seen a little on t.v (winter olympics mainly) & it sure looks like a lot of fun :raz:
The closest I've ever got is snowboarding, would be skateboarding, which is kind of the same, but without the wheels :p

Regards
Mr Turbo

One would think, some similarities, but really quite different. I think I hurt myself more in the three days of snowboarding I have done than in 15 years of skateboarding.

Love the look of those wood finished boards, but I will claim no further knowledge to pass on.:iconwink:

Very true! My first 2 days out of a week long ski trip to Ruidoso, NM in highschool were spent on my rear & face because i kept wiping out. The movement on a skateboard def. helps, but when it comes to ice & snow, it's a whole other world. Does it snow in any areas of Australia?

Check out the element (second one pictured) the first one is actually the rei/arbor colab board (I work at rei) it's a really good board, but would be hard to find unless we still have them online.

Heh, i was going to if that was where you worked. I wish we had one closer than downtown Austin- i love that place. Thanks for your help Garret, how long have you been riding & where do you usually go?

I've been riding for about 12 years, I don't think any REI's have snow stuff right now (except for some of the really big ones)
I usually ride bear mtn, and June mtn, but I got to Utah and or Colorado every year

Funniest clip from one of the greatest movies in the history..of all movies!

I have been riding for about 17 years. The Arbor board company makes one of the highest quality snowboards, if not the best. I personally feel that Burton's quality has gone downhill since the early 90's, and Ride is the next comparable in my personal opinion, for what it is worth. If you can afford the Arbor, get it, just make sure you get the style that fits your ride.

100% agree.

Great info! Just from what i read about Arbor, they sound like an awesome company that truly cares about their product. Even price-wise they seem like they are right in the running. The ones i pictured above only ran $299-$350 i believe. However when i visit other sites, some places try to get another $100-$150 out of them. I hope they do another one with REI if i can't get the other one online!

I snowboard, but only for the past 4 years or so. I'm getting better with each passing season (last year, I didn't hit a tree, so that was a first, lol). So I really don't have a freaking clue as to what boards are good. I just rent them right now as I can only manage 1 or 2 trips a year at the most. When I move up to Colorado eventually, I'll probably invest in a bunch of stuff.

I board in Wolf Creek, Durango (Purgatory). Hoping to get to some other places this year, but we'll see. Have to gets lots of money saved up first.

Crowboarding!
