 Here's some pics of my pride & joy, a 1999 Land Rover Discovery 2 TD5 diesel automatic, with 273K on the clock. Had it since October and it was stock. Since then I have fitted a front bar, front recovery points, bash plate, cargo barrier, new auto transmission, new radiator and hoses, and BFG's and much more to come. My daily driver is a MY10 Forester and I really miss my MY07 Forester.:sadbanana:

Very nice, i've always loved the Disco's. Except for their poor service records out here. We don't get the deisel out here either :(

Flexin her muscles :bcool:

Lookin' good!

Is the rear sprung or air bags? If air bags get rid of them or always have spares. We had a Disco 2 almost beat itself to death on a Simpson crossing when it lost rear suspension due to a bag leak.

Yep! She's coil sprung and from what i've observed bagged Discos don't have near as good articulation as the coil sprung ones, another reason to convert to coils eh!

Yeah! Other than some reliability issues typical for Landys, the Disco is still one of the best compromises between off-road ability and daily driving comfort.

Nice one! Looks good, and you've done some good mods to it. If I ever needed anything more than the Forester, there are plenty of cars that I'd consider, but I think I'd end up in a Land Rover.

(or if I had the money, a new Range Rover Sport would do the job quite nicely )

Thanks for the comments, my daily driver is a MY10 Forester and yes I do really miss my MY07 Forester which apart from poor departure/ramp over/approach angles had a much more solid robust 'feel' about it than the new tincan does :-(
