So we returned once more to GreenRidge State Forest in Western Maryland. Did a little spring camping with a bunch of friends.

When we got there we instantly got some bad news. The ORV trail is closed due to flooding and endangered plants! They are going to be relocating the trail in the next couple years or if funds do not allow, it will remain closed. There is only a 5 or so mile stretch that will stay open to public and one of the park rangers nicely showed us the way so we can at least get the cars muddy.

Thanks to my gf Amanda for taking some lovely pics!

On the way there, welcomed by some beautiful clouds

Then we spent the night and the next day after some food and games, i strapped the GoPro Hero to my roof and on we went.

This was a fun dissent. Too bad it doesn't look half as steep as it felt.

HAHA yea thats my girl friends sister giving me the finger lol.

I wish more was open cause the part thats open now is the easiest section of the whole 18 mile loop. :(

Anyone around my area know of other fun spots to offroad a subaru? I know of RoushCreek(sp?) PA, but that might be too much for a manual forrie with no low range from what i hear.

Seems like we had a good cluster of members around that area, wonder where they have gone???

Thats looks like a heap of fun. Did you have your sway bars disconnected or no sway bars during that 3 wheel'in pic of your Foz there Fuze911?

Also the pics of your car at the Subie Dealer your vehicle looks the best their. Do you get many comments when you take it their from people who work their?

Taza

Im not sure others in my area go else-where. I hear there are private areas around. All the bigger trucks local to me either lift their car for looks (still dont get why) or they go to RoushCreek. But that looks like itll be too much for the subie.

I did have the sways disconnected. I usually zip tie them out of the way and its been working great for me.

When i came to the dealer i had a couple salepeople say things like 'WOA! Now thats a subaru!!" One guy, i assume a car washer or parker, took a picture with his cell phone and said "Now thats some Baja type s@#&$!" They were all smiling and loving it and as was i. I asked them if they would still warranty the car. :)

Looks like fun! Great trip report!

If you don't mind my asking, what software did you use to put the video together? I really liked the way the video was put together and I'd like something a little more involved/advanced than "Windows Live Movie Maker."

Thanks in advance!

I use iMovie on my mac for these simple little videos. Its quick and easy but im not sure you can get it in any way on a windows machine. :(

Yeah top photos and video there. Maryland's a pretty area, having been through there a number of years ago, and this video show just how pretty it is.

Regards,

Joel
