Rectifier info???

Can anybody help with this?
My Yamaha outboard needs a rectifier fitted so i can charge my batteries on the go. I was told they can be got for $40-60 but the Yamaha dealer has quoted $140.
The question is ......is a rectifier the same no matter for a car or an outboard..in other words can i fit any rectifier? or any other suggestions?

Doesn't matter. I got a genuine one from a yamaha dealer for $100. Seems fairly simple to put and hopefully won't stuff up when i am in the middle of nowhere. Didn't want to take the risk on some elcheapo thing.
