This event I was not competing, instead I was Race Control running it. It was pouring down rain and we had literally just red flagged (stopped) the race when a WRX was flying down the main straight at 220km/h (We know this from the data logging)aquaplaned off the circuit and spun all the way down the straight spinning like a top for about 300-400 metres. He hit the 100m braking marker sign- and nothing else. For those that know the circuit, he left the track in front of the control tower or slightly before, and did not stop until he got to where the drag cars used to launch.
