On todays Watagan's trip, we started talking about great moments in motorsport. I thought it might be good to list here links to your favourite motorsport moments.

Hopefully more will be added by people with their own memorable moments

Wow that really is incredible. One little mistake or misjudgment and its game over.

I wouldn't mind taking the vehicle in the first vid for a drive

Yeah- I think take a number on that!

Ari Vatanen. 1983 Manx Rally. Cattle grid.

Co-driver was Terry Harryman, not Dave Richards.

Here is one of the real characters of Australian Rallying- Ross Dunkerton. From billy carts to Mitsubishi Evo's (well, that might not seem like much or a progression but he also drove Subaru's) my favourite one was when he went sideways through a gate over the cattle grid. I haven't seen the race cam footage afterwards for a while, but he couldn't believe it either!

Here is one of the 2 great US riders who I really loved to watch, and even thjough i obviously went for Doohan and Gardner, I certainly respectd Rainey and Schwantz. Such a tragedy when Rainey later broke his spine. This is Hockenheim, with Scwantz doing what he does best- being the last of the demon late brakers. Some said Schwantz would only brake when he saw God. I think that might be true.

And the brilliant Philip Island rounds of the World Superbikes proved that they can be just as excieting as the pure bred GP bikes!

I've found the Glenn Seton one from the 87 Bathurst.
I hope this works...

I loved seeing that same footage. It was in the 1991 Telecom Rally Australia!

Thanks for finding that footage of the 87 Bathurst- even though I have it on tape and possibly DVD it has been a while since I last saw it. It still makes the hair on the back of neck stand up. I remember that year well. I was up there and we knew one of the drivers and it was blowing a gale and was extremely cold. We were lucky- we were in the pit garage- others were in the weather. Some big accidents in that race when the next deluge came down, but that driving by Seton impressed a lot of people. Like me! He deserved to win that race and but for a stupid rule the race was his.

I subscribe to this channel - and it was just recently uploaded.

My only comment is Enjoy!
