I'm just back from competing in a motorkhana today at Eastern Creek. Car was unbelievably good to drive. How can I describe the elation as you enter a corner as fast as you dare, rip on the handbrake and as you slide around the corner, now on full throttle with all four wheels spinning wildly and then on to the next corner? On other occassions I was doing some circle work on the dry concrete, with smoke billowing from all four just as they do in the WRC! Despite missing half the morning sessions with a loose master cylinder of all things (No idea how that happened as it has not ever been touched), somehow I still managed 23rd out of 30. Navigation was the biggest problem- even my navigator lost where we were on one occasion. But what a blast. In the afternoon, I stopped going for a time and concentrated on not hitting any witches hats or getting a WD (Wrong Direction) and having fun. Succeeded on all counts!:biggrin::biggrin:

Sounds like you had a great time. Would have been especially challenging today I'd say with the rain that we've been having :poke:

Actually, it made no real difference as most of it was on a wet skidpan anyway. Made life tough for the officials unfortunately.

Not yet. Revised placings- I came in 21st- as I said- most pleasing having missed half the morning sessions! There were some very fast cars there today and the drivers are extremely good and with much experience. During the week I watched an F1 car at Mt Panorama and I can assure you what I saw today from the place getters was every bit as entertaining and impressive. I have enjoyed competing at state, national and international levels and I can assure you club level is just as good if in different ways. If you get want to do it- do it. I'm still on a high and can only hope the adrenalin stops pumping soon or I will never get any sleep tonight!.

Navigation issues spoiled an othewise smooth run. With so many cones out there, you forget which one to turn around, and whether you turn left or right!
