Whats the end that wears quicker on an AWD Subaru (such as my 99 Outback)?
I've got two slightly better tyres and need to extend the life to as long as I can get out of these.

front for sure. i carry a lot of weight in the back of my OB and front go a lot quicker. i suppose it depends on where you drive too. i'm im the eastern suburbs so driving around i'm always turning from street to street so my front wear a lot faster. country miles might be a bit more even but still i'd say the front

Fronts. The degree can also depend on wheel alignment, tyre pressures and how you drive

At the moment I drive like a grandpa because of fuel! haha. I do 90% country kilometers. Almost 0 highway kilometers. I'm running the tyres at 30psi, but because of wear on a couple of the tyres on both outside edges I'm going to up them to 34 or so and see how it goes.
Wheel alignment hasn't been checked, but I have had a close look (always done my own alignments with previous cars) and it looks right. Slight neg camber on fronts, bit more on the rears. Doesn't seem affected by toe out or excessive toe in while driving so I'm reasonably sure toe is good.

I had 30psi in my tires all round when I bought it and they were wearing on the outside. I now run 32-34 in the front and they wear evenly. in the back its 35 or more all the time even when I dont have anything in their.
My back usually goes from light to heavy quickly. Its usually just me driving but sometimes I pile 5 people in an a bunch of luggage so I keep a diecent amount in at all times.
I always carry my tire pump and pressure gauge with me along with snatch strap too.

If you are running tyres under inflated you will get wear on both inside and outside edges. Wear on the outside is due to either incorrect camber, toe driving style or a combination of the three. If your tyres are over inflated you will get wear in the centre.

Yes that is correct Rally. And on two of my tyres there is wear on the inside and outside edge. I believe these were on the rear when I got the car, but I bought it from auction and the tyres were less then 40% when I got it. Also no history. I'll run the better tread ones on the front. Hopefully get around to that this arvo, if homework and house cleaning will permit!

Fronts usually wear faster (bad alignments aside) due to doing about 90% of the braking, as well as steering, and drive on front/all wheel drives.

Even my old HR Holden seems to wear fronts out faster than rears, providing I dont give too much throttle. :)

Regardless of which end drives, always put the best tyres on the front, steering and stopping properly, is usually better. The rear end should just follow along. (except for those who steer with their throttle and rear wheels)

Beigewagon.

Or use the handbrake!

Oops. I forgot about that! Might need to reverse a lot to get the same thrills
