Generally when I do beach driving I take out the ABS fuse for the following reason. While I can turn off the ABS as such with the traction control button, as soon as you are driving along the beach at more than say 20km/hr it kicks back in and as you often "crab walk" on the beach going sideways the stability control constantly kicks in grabbing at the brakes and making a horrible noise.

Anyway round this ? is there anyway to turn off the stability control for offroad use ?

Does this have any affect on the foresters offroad abilities ? e.g. its ability to feed power to all wheels making it less capable ?

Thanks

Often cars with such systems dispense with LSD's and use TC instead. I don't know if this is what Subaru does unfortunately.

I have found no way either. The traction control button limits the effects, but it is still there. I have tried to get my fozzie sideways, but it allows only about 60 degrees of rotation before it says "WHOA, you're having too much fun."

I want to put in a switch somewhere so I wont need to open the hood. Just flip it before I need it, and when I am done, switch it back on and restart.
