Gday guys,

Now this may be a silly question, but nobody has seemed to be able to answer my question in the past.

I have a MY06 Forester (Auto) and I have no idea what the Power - A/T - Hold button is used for near the shifter.

If anybody could enlighten me I would be ever so grateful!!

I have one too, and I've asked people the same question. It's not a silly one. the "hold" button starts the car in 2nd gear, rather than first gear. For example if you were on snow, you could use the Hold button to move off, and minimise wheel spin. The power button holds the gear for longer. I.E. The gearbox wont change up a gear until higher revs.

Regards,

Joel

Joel is spot on (as is RC!) - "Power" gives sportier gear changes and "Hold" is for low traction surfaces like snow / ice. I think "Hold" can be used to hold gear as well - I would need to read the manual to refresh my memory.

Excellent, thanks for your help guys.

Kevin I may have missed it, but I did look through the manual and still couldnt find anything on it - but oh well who needs a manual when you have ORS!!!

Thanks again guys
