Okay guys and girls
i'm searching for a destination were i can take and show a few new people
as to how to use their 4wd with out going any damage to their cars .
so if anyone knows of any good places close to sydney that i can take them for a day please let me know.
I'm looking at running this trip sometime in mid to late september so if anyone else from the from would like to attend your most welcome.
i'll post more detail's as they come to light.

Howdy Mr Hilux;

Here are a few ideas....

1) Across Webbs Creek ferry at Wisemans, then up Green's Rd and onto Wheelbarrow Ridge Rd to Colo Heights.

2) Upper Colo to Wheeny Creek then Mountain Lagoon track to Bilpin.

3) If you have a full day then maybe head out to Newnes or The Glow Worm Tunnel.

4) For a quick outing the Kings Tableland Rd in the Blue Mts is quite fun.

5) The Patterson Range Fire Trail to Burralow Ck (or for more of a challenge try the Burralow Fire Trail).

Enjoy!

with out doing any damage to their cars .
With you leading the trip - as if that's going to happen :raspberry: :biggrin:

(I'll let you know where we will be going for driver awareness as soon as I find out)

try Yalwal. that would be a perfect easy intro into 4wd. go down the tianjara fire trail. theres no really hairy bits and no dense bush to scratch any cars. but is nice and bumpy in spots and requires correct wheel placment.
Kanangra_Boyd National park is another great spot and a bit more challanging.

thanks guys for the info
my only problem now is i don"t seem to know these places by name
so a bit of directions would be great or way points that i can put into ozi.

Kevin when jave you been on one of my trips were you suffered car damage.
My car dosn't count:lol::biggrin:

Yalwal is inland from Nowra and sits on the Shoalhaven river. look at map NSW 25K 8928-2-S.
Kanangra-Boyd NP is Blue mountains area. map NSW 25K 8930-3S

check all the surrounding maps aswell. you can camp at Yalwal or at Dingo Dell in Kanangra-Boyd NP

for some other easy spots you can buy the "4WD treks close to Sydney" book by Craig Lewis and Cathy Savage/Boiling Billy publications

What about River Island Nature Retreat on Wombeyan Caves Road near Goodmans Ford. If you go in for a day its about $20, but they have tracks there from an easy roll around look at the scenery to tracks that will put most competetion trucks in their places.

I have been there a few times & it is a great place to learn what you & your car is capable of. As Cheyne_e said, it has everything from easy to all out hard core 4wding. I can highly recommend it.

Regards
Mr Turbo
