Picked it up on Wednesday and love it!!Can't wipe the  from my face!!!
It's a 2000 Limited, white with 148000kms on the clock. It has its full service history and had the head gaskets replaced at 118000kms with a $1400 receipt to prove it.
It's in almost immaculate condition despite having had 3 previous owners. It looks like it's been sold by a dealer at some stage as there are a couple of obvious touch-ups to the front bar and bonnet (the front rh corner has had the new paint rubbed off it recently as you can see in the photo). Apart from that it's as straight, and tight as with NO sign of any previous accidents. All the doors, and tail gate close like buttons. I had my mechanic go right over it before I bought it and he agrees.
It needed absolutely nothing for roadworthy which is handy as I negotiated the price on the basis that I'd do the RWC. One look at the car and I was very confident it would pass with flying colours.
It drives beautifully smooth and is very quiet. It's got full leather and as the added bonus of leather, dual sunroof (an instant winner with the kids), outback floor mats, factory tow bar, factory roof racks, cargo curtain, cargo barrier and an aftermarket cargo mat which is nifty.
The first item on the shopping list is a roof basket for camping trips.
My only criticism would be that the seats feel quite low - but that could be just me adjusting from driving a Captiva previously. So happy to have an AWD car with a true pedigree now.
I've never done any (real) off road driving apart from a couple of short stints in the Captiva so am keen to test the limits of the Outback over time.
I paid $11,000 for it plus $88 for the RWC. Here's a couple of pics (pardon the quality, they were taken with the iPone).
