'01 Forry on Moreton Island

I recently purchased my first AWD - 2001 subaru forester limited edition model manual. The man i purchased it off had fitted it with side steps and i am doing my first offroad trip to moreton island soon and i am worried if these sidesteps will be a big problem? Would it be smarter to take them off before i go? (i'm assuming as he fitted them himself there will still be side skirts when i take the side steps off). It seems to be just two bolts that are holding them on so they seem pretty easy to remove.

Also, the lowest part on my car is the exhaust pipe underneath so i am thinking about getting it lifted. Or do you guys think the forrys still go fairly decent off road (mainly beach) without the lift kit?

Cheers

G'day dani4159 & :welcome: to ORS.

The first thing you should do is to get a metal sump guard. The flimsy plastic one that's on there, will most certainly be ripped off, especially on sand. :iconwink: :)
Forry's are very good on sand, so you shouldn't have any dramas.
A lift is also a good idea, although not entirely necessary. But the more clearence you have the better. :)
