I've looked through the forum index, and the service manual, but I can't find a place to tell me how to turn the green light surrounding the ignition key OFF.

Why would I want to do this? I spend a fair bit of time camped with the tailgate of the vehicle open, and therefore the green light is the only one I can't turn off. I'm sure it doesn't use a heap of power, but it would be nice to turn it off. It is a bit annoying.

Anyone?

What I've done in the past is to close the latch on the tail gate with a screw driver... That makes the car "believe" the tailgate is closed, turning the light off.

Only important thing to remember is to open it back again before closing the tail gate...

Pedro.

can see why that's important: could get nasty.

Not a bad approach though: I hadn't thought of that.
