Yes i've been looking at RockAuto too. The markups on H6 parts in Australia is fugging horrendous, even going through Frog on Ausubaru. Everything i have looked at so far is atleast 50% cheaper using RockAuto including the postage. E.g Subaru Aus want $380 ($20 because im in Ballarat) for a throttle position sensor, Rockauto = $131 (thats Au$!. Same part, same brand.

you should have seen the price differences for slotted racing rotors for my mates M3 BMW. Absolutely disgraceful. He just got the whole set shipped from the US. My auntie brought a set of front rotors and calipers for her M3 in from america years ago by putting it in with her luggage. Hahaha.

It's so expensive over here, especially in WA. Ohwell, TIA huh.

Is it just because we're isolated and there is no competition from independant/alternative parts suppliers? It would be nice to have a wholesale parts supplier like RockAuto in Aust to give some competition. This in combination with the fact the dealers can't even begin to look up a part for you without a VIN really does my head in.

Cheers,
Rhys

I understand why they need the VIN numbers- it is because each part is tied to the VIN, so that way they get the right part for your car when there was a design change through the model life. But I can't understand why everything is so expensive. I've got to get new wiper arms for my MY04 because some idiot changed them to non genuine and they are falling apart. Subaru want about $80-$90 or something. Crazy!

Just watch the shipping and postage. I have ordered 800.00 US on closeout for my Justy at a steeply discounted price. The more you buy the more reasonable shipping gets. I went to order one part, and the shipping was 3 times more then part was, so I bought it locally.
