I can't stand drinking water from plastic containers and will need a stainless steel water container made for my next trip. Does not need to be huge but around 40ltrs at least.
I priced some 20ltr S/S jerry cans....$160 EACH. Seems bloody expensive to me.
I will have a plastic tank fitted for 'general use' water but HAVE to S/S for my drinking water.
Does anyone work with metal or can anyone steer me in the right direction??
My new car will be this:

Released here in November, one model only, will come as a base model with a cab/chassis version,2 airbags only, vinyl floor with not many options but a factory diff lock with stability control will be available. Factory trays will also be available. A/C,ABS and cruise are std.
NO 'super select' only 'easy select'...so can't be driven on road in 4WD for any length of time.
A base model Hilux extra cab....A/C is $1,800 extra, cruise $750 extra, ABS brakes $500 extra and on it goes!!
The Triton has a 'front mount' intercooler...does this pose any problems for water crossings???
I assume not, but don't know enough about them.

$160 for a 20l jerry is probably in the ball park.

Stainless Steel, or more accurately $tainless $teel is a very expensive material and working and welding it properly (to food grade standards) is a speciallised skill. I used to work in the pharmaceutical industry where all manufacturing plant is made of stainless and costs accordingly.

If you are prepared to pay, look for someone who does fabrication for the food processing or wine making industry as they will have the equipment and skills do do what you're after, but it will come at a significant price.

Food grade plastic is a much cheaper alternative.

2 Jerry's are probabily better than one 40L container. If you have a blow out you've got one Jerry remaining where as if you have a blow out in the 40L container there goes your good drinking water...

I have plenty of time. Once i get the machine and start setting it up it will be easier for me to picture how i want things.
