Well, we packed up the old girl for a day trip. We are new to Arizona so we found a book at the library with some great day trip suggestions. I didn't clock the gravel road parts but we were a few hours on the trail. Our Forester is out the box stock and has 165k on the clock. So, we took our time and took in the sites.

The trail has a few washouts and you actually drive in the dry river bed for a while. Though you can see it is "groomed" on occasion.

I don't know where all that mud came from? There were two very small water crossings. Did'nt get out for a pics but it reminded me I need to do something out that diff breather. Finally, we made it to the lake, had a picnic and a swim. Until next weekend...

I wouldn't worry about a diff breather if you only go through a bit of water
if your going through water above your bonnet definately

Great pics that is one big lake there.

I'm in Phoenix as well. I would like some fellow Subaru drivers to join me on my "adventures" lol.

Are you still around?
