Checking Tranny Fluid

Okay this is not something new to me as I would check on the old van I would drive. But my issue is that I am having trouble checking it on my '99 Outback legacy. I mean I have the car in park and the engine running but my problem is I bang my hand on those hoses when I am pulling out the dipstick.

So does anyone have any tips, or maybe something I am over looking? Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem. I thought about rerouting the heater core hoses out of the way.

Mine gts stuck where i nee pliers and a fwdats of convincing it to come out.

Well one I am 6' so that's not the problem it's that when I pull it out the damn thing is so close to the hoses I bump my hand into them

Your not the only one have this problem too... I could say a fair bit of practise to get it right.. Cheers AP
