Some members from dirtyimpreza forum planned this post Pikes Peak Hill Climb cruise, and it didn't quite work out. I was there, but didn't see anybody from DI.com
My buddy (Todd) and I drove down through Sedalia and Deckers, thinking we were gonna meet everyone for a nice DI cruise up Pikes Peak (HA-HA). He rode his bike, I was in my RS. We had fun through the canyons, and were able to make it to the gate for Pikes Peak by 10:30, as planned. Todd parked his bike and jumped in my car for the drive up. We've waited about 15 minutes for the DI group to show up, and since nobody did, we've decided to run solo.
Yesterday, being a Saturday before the 4th, everybody and their families were up there, so it was pretty busy, but we were able to find gaps in traffic for some fun. The RS did really well, no issues at all. There were times I was able to get into 3rd (and even 4th) gear, the car wasn't overheating (as the previous owner had experienced), it was a good day. We even found a nice puddle to play in just below the summit, and I was pretty happy to get the RS dirty
I've got quite a few pics and some video, so enjoy:
The #318 Caswell banner was still there, right by a puddle. I couldn't resist!
At the top, with the appropriate custom paint job (after the puddle)
The peeing RS position
