Armed with a new CV & Starter Motor that were replaced about a week ago, I joined the Subaru & Rec Club for a trip through the Watagans which is about an hour or so north of Sydney.
So after we all met up at the meeting point, it was time to head off for some 4wding & adventure.
However, by the time we got to the dirt we had lost 3 vehicles due to mechanical problems. The 1st needed a tow as it had snapped a pulley bolt (I think I got that right) The other two had radiator issues, which we limped to the camp site.
Once our campsite was secured, we headed out to a couple of lookouts to see the views that they had to offer. After viewing the amazing scenery some of the group headed back to the campsite, while the others (including myself) headed off in search of something a little more challenging.
Before long we had our 1st recovery. Joel_57 didn't quite make it to the top of a steep, rutted, washed out hill & needed to be snatched.
Then it was my turn. However I was having issues of my own, due to a dodgy starter motor, even though it had just been replaced days earlier.
Once I clutch started it, I was ready to tame this hill, & I'm happy to say that I made it up on my 1st attempt. But I really had to lay the boot into it to do so.
After exploring a few more tracks, it was time to call it a day & head back to camp as it was starting to get late in the day.
We woke up on Sunday morning to a perfect day & before long we were back out on the tracks for some more fun. And lets just say that the trails we tackled were quite extreme, with wheel placement being the key.
I'll let the pics do the talking & finish off the report, but lets just say there was plenty of 3 wheel action involved.
More pics of the trip can be found Here
