Just checking to see if anybody has had this issue. After my 2000 Legacy sits in a good rain, and I start to drive it I hear water running. It happens when I start to take off and when I stop. It sounds like water in the body of the car but the car is dry on the inside. I'm wandering if it is in the pillars, rockers, doors or just running off of the car. It stops after 3 or 4 stop and goes. But it sounds like a lot water.

Thanks Nate

Check the door drain holes to see if they are blocked

Maybe the holes in the air vent at the bottom of the windscreen, Where the wiper motor is located the drain holes are blocked and water is going from one side to the other

Or when you open the front door near the bottom hinge in the corner it might be blocked with gunk

Running water? Hot and cold? Geez these new cars have everything! Seriously though, the above suggestions have real merit.

No sunroof! But I found a crack in the plastic base for the antenna that is mounted on the A pillar driver side (left) I will check into this tomorrow.

Ok I found the water it is in the rocker panels and they were full thats a lot of water. I pulled some of the drain plugs to and it drained for 4 min. So how can the water get in there I have never driven through deep water. The water seems to show up after a long rain. where should I look. Ps the carpet is dry. the doors are dry. the water is collecting in the rocker panel under the doors.

the water comes in behind the inner fender linner ware the body seam is. 3m sells seam sealler over time the sealent dries and streaches. if it was from the antena the floor would be wet.

bru73 I was thinking about that area! But I was not sure I was also thinking it might be under the vent cover some where.
Thanks I will check it out Monday i'm doing an axle and head gasket then.

Nate

on your head gaskets use coppercote spray i havedone hundreds of sets and never had a comeback. use a good lube on the head bolts thred and on eather side of the washer are u dowining them in or out of the car.:quitar:
