The clutch finally let go in Project Pearl last Saturday. We have 96000kms on the clock. I have a mechanic mate of mine replacing it over the last 3 days for $850 and I will pick it up tomorrow. Just what we needed a week before our wedding!:( Went bloody quickly too. The missus was approaching a roundabout, changed down to 2nd, and put the foot down to a slipping clutch, no warning at all. I knew that it was getting a bit ordinary (bit smelly from hard starts and some very slight slippage doing hard beach work - like snatching out mates in their bogged cars). At least it is done now. Been an expensive couple of weeks for Pearl. Just last week put new 2 new inner front driveshaft boots on and replaced the mid-section of the exhaust ($200 and $80 respectively- Thanks Northgate Goodyear and Rob Bliss Exhausts). Hopefully no big bills now 'til the 100,000km timing belt change.....

Hmm Bugger! Ah well you've the wedding to look forward to now. Is Pearl going on the honeymoon too?

Regards,

Joel
