After having 4 flats over Easter in the Victorian highlands, it was time to chuck out the Dunlops and fit some new tyres. I probably should have changed them before the trip but thought they would last one more.
First flat was just outside myrtleford and we were able to get replaced with a second hand road tyre. Next was a ripped side wall on the top of Blue Rag, did it on the last rocky climb.
Took a trip from Dargo into Bairnsdale to try and get another second hand one, or a new set of ATs. Could only get a Hankook HT tyre in my size but at least I had a spare.
Next was heading across towards Seldom Seen and the haunted stream. Hole in the tread that we quickly plugged.
The last was a small side wall hole when we were almost at Tom Groggin. Though we may as well try and plug and it seemed to hold. I lasted all the way home which was great.
Another vehicle had 3 flats and another 2 so it was not a good trip for tyres.
So now I'm much happier with a new set on the Forester, Yokohama AT-S 215/65R16, ready for the Anzac long weekend.
