After reading the Diff Lokka thread, and finding this video on youtube, I was wondering if anyone has an aftermarket LSD, rather than our standard viscous coupling lsd, and does it make much of a difference?

Hi Joel you can get aftermarket lsd's that work relay well but they will cost you big bucks.
I am going to try shimming an lsd soon here is a link https://datnet.org/Technical-f35/Tech-Articles-f9/TECH-ARTICLE-Tighten-r200-viscous-t530.html it sounds good just got to get the motorization to do it.

I'm quite happy with my open diff if makes you pick the right line and it's all part of the experience and the pleasure when you make up or through without getting stuck.

With aggressive tyres and height you have won most of the battle i have seen other subarus with lsd's get stuck in the same places i get stuck. I can't justify spending $1000+ on anything when the moment you lift a wheel you go no where.

Hi Joel 57, You can get aftermarket L.S.D's that are very effective and do work when one wheel is in the air. Here is a link to the cusco catalogue.

There is an explanation for some of it down the bottom. 1 way, 1.5 and 2 way refers to how the diff delivers drive. i.e., is the limited slip working only on throttle, or off throttle as well. These are rally type applications more than offroad, because in offroad we aren't so concerned about off throttle stituations.
