G'day Lads,

came across this the other day,

https://www.ecb.com.au/model/Forester.htm[/URL]

Thought that there is at least an alternative to the Subaxtreme gear out there that might be handy for those of us who want the protection sooner rather than later..

I will not a couple of points however,

1. These type of bars will limit your approach angle even further.

2. The bull bars in particular are as ugly as sin.

But, I suppose it should be added to the vendor list of everybody just in case people are out there looking for a roo bar...

Boy! you are not wrong there. :puke:

The nudgies aren't that dissimilar to the SubaXtreme design. Once I have my 1"lift fitted and swaybar clevis pin connectors I think I'd still be better off than standard in terms of approach angle after fitting a nudge bar.

Can't get to link? Is this a better priced alternative to the Subaxtreme ones? I really want a nudge bar for my 03 Forester but I can't afford the SubaXtreme ones! Haha

05 Outback front bar options.

Am re-thinking my options for a front bar. Am leaning towards the SubaXtreme sports bar, https://www.subaxtreme.com.au/images/large/OSB-044-3R-Silver-1.jpg over the offroad bar, https://www.subaxtreme.com.au/images/large/OB-044-Prem-White-3.jpg. .
(Can't justify the offroad bar - weight & cost - given I am not 'off road' that often.)
Does anyone have an idea of the degree of improvement in approach angle?
Not quite as good as the off road bar, esp immediately forward of the wheels, but still seems much better than the original. And as shown in the silver photo, the location of the sump guard (and the sump ) is evidence of the limited advantage of any additional approach angle back towards the wheels.
Also, with the location of the fog lights, it should be possible to fit the numberplate 'outboard' of the fog light on the passengers side. A water bag could then be placed below the grill and not obscure the front number plate.

yes some of them are very ugly esp the 1st one on the forester.

does the outback and the liberty have the same front end? ie would a factory or aftermarket outback bull/nudge bar fit the same gen liberty (b4)?
