With spring rapidly approaching in my neck of the woods, it's almost time for the Morels to start popping. Anyone else planning on heading out?

mushrooms
theonly ones I've heard of picking around here is of the magic variety...

Weather is perfect for this weekend.

Had a week of rain with temps in the 50's, today is sunny and mid 60's as will the rest of the weekend. I expect the Morels to be fruiting rather nicely :)

Needless to say I am northern bound again :)

No morels this weekend :unamused:

We did end up with 10 pounds of oyster mushrooms and a few pounds of fiddle heads, a lot of wintergreen and violets :)

wife's coworker gave her a huge field mushroom , the cap was almost the size of a dinner plate. It tasted absolutely beautiful sauteed. He would not give away the location though

Most people won't give away a favourite hunting spot until it stops producing

Pics from last weekend:

The bowls are wintergreen leaves (made a nice tea) wintergreen berries (after dinner mint?) fiddleheads and oyster mushrooms.
