This should be fun!! All in good condition with lots of annexes and stuff. The car might struggle a bit with it fully loaded for a trip but i will sort that out later.
I'm back on the move and hope to be back in VIC in about 2 weeks from now.

Looks sweet, very insanely jealous. Well done.

+1! That thing's awesome! We've got an old '83 cub3 pop top camper. It goes alright but I'd love a camper like that one for our use as the cub is my future mother inlaws :D

Hope to catch up with you when you're here in vic. Will you be making it in time for the march 14th weekend 4wd trip?

Cheers

Bennie

It would be good to see a few people that i only know via this forum. Seems like we know a bit about each other but most of us have never met!!!
The only person i have met is 'outasight' but he seems to have departed the scene.
I might just try and make it to the picnic weekend but my first priority is to get to work to pay the bills!!!
You should see the new ones of this brand nipper. Fantastic stuff and probably getting up there with Kimberly Campers. $37,000 is the STARTING price now!
I'm just about to send an email to Industrial Springs in SA to see what they think of the suspension set up. I have some pics and will see what they say. I understand that the 'slipper' set up that i have is not so good for rough or bumpy conditions.
I will also be looking into some KYB or Koni shocks if i can match them up.
Not a lot else to do to it really as it is in very good condition all over.
The tyres will go for sure. They are Coopers and not wanted on my trailer.
Got a price of $195 each for some Bridgestone 694s
Bside the fact they are Coopers i don't want to be setting out on a 20/30,000klm trip with tyres i can't be sure about. I saw to much drama out there caused by trailer tyres that have been taken for granted.

Well...am now back in Vic and can safely say that the Forester struggled and it would be silly to take on the trip i have planned.
The trailer towed well and i sat on the speed limits all the way but the speed washed off real quick on most inclines and it was back to 4th,back to 3rd until you got back up to 100kph (usless to change to 4th before 100) and the poor old car was struggling.
I reckon the trailer is heavier than it looks and i had my stuff in it plus some in the car also.
On the way to Sydney from South West Rocks, semi trailers were 'flashing" me when i was on low beam. I usually drive at night so this was not good.
I repacked the trailer and got as much as could from the box on the drawbar and out of the car and put as much heavy stuff as i could in the rear of the trailer and adjusted the headlights down a bit.
Seemed better after that.
Mind you, this is with the HD springs fitted!!
Considering that the 3 jerry cans were empty and so was the 60ltr water tank and that i will have a tinny and outboard on it plus other 'stuff' the car just can't/wont cope.
A smelly diesel will have to be got.
I have plenty of time to look around.
Now the job is to beef up the suspension on the trailer to make sure it will last the distance.

Probably a good call Silver. As I understand it tinnies are considrably heavier than they look. I would think that a hardtop with tinnie and all the touring 'stuff' would be too much for anything but a H6.

Time for an XT or Diesel then is it Silver?:cool:

No Subie for this trip. Will have to be a Hilux or something like that. Don't really care as long as the engine is in good nick and it can tow the trailer easy and get me out of bother. At least one dif lock, winch and HD suspension will be the go i reckon. Other stuff of course, but not sure how much i should spend yet.

Good to hear you made it to Victoria safely Silver! The camper looks even better all opened up!

Regards,

Joel

Gosh Darn that thing is cool. I don't think we have anything like that in the states.

I guess that would be one of our pop ups, but I like that style better
