Plastic skid plate

Came across this website

They are using 1/2 inch thick cutting board plastic to make a skidplate. Presumably this is easy to cut and work with. Anyone ever tried it on a Forester?

For sliding it would be good - but for "bashing" I think it would have too much flex.


ps - nice to see someone doing something useful with a Lexus!

yeah i think you just gotta know what environment your gonna be driving it. i think it would be good for me cause my big need for a skid plate is sliding on ruts and help keep mud/snow build up out of the engine bay. the area im in isnt very rocky at all, and the mud is soft enough.
