I just got back from out of town. Found a classified ad just as it was posted for a set of next to new Kumho Road Venture MT's. They're a 235/75/r15 and come out to 29" tall. As soon as I get my toyota rims redrilled to a subaru 4 bolt they will be on the wagon.

Now I just have to go figure out if my lug nuts will work or if I need aligning lugs.

Very cool, Luke! Cannot wait to see those M/T's on your wagon!

I just got the tires put on the subaru right before going to class at the university here in Regina. The tires sound sweet. They have the mud tire growl. Power still pretty good with a 29" tire. Didn't hit 5th gear on the highway but there was dense traffic.

I had to bash the front fender openning pretty far on both sides. The passenger side still rubs a bit at full lock if I hit a bump.

I was running late for class so I stopped at mcdonalds on the way to my lecture. I parked in the parking lot to check the torque on my lug nuts and I had 2 people come up to me and say sweet car. The guy I paid at the drive through said the same thing.

I'm planning on building tube doors this summer. I might have to build fender flaires though. These tires stick out pretty far and they sure through a lot of road slop around. My cars covered in spatter just from driving across the city. Its just above freezing today and the snows melting.

Here's a shot before I bashed the front fender. Sorry about the darkness. It was shady.

Huge difference! Looks like they mean (offroad) business for sure :iconwink:

With a 3" lift mine just clears the 27" mud tyres I run on my L-series wagon (same as yours). Even with the 4" kit you'll need some major work to keep those tyres from scrubbing whenever they're pushed up into the guard. What are you doing to stop that? Those rims spacing it out a lot more are they? You're no doubt trimming the guard back a fair bit with the angle grinder?

The only thing I used an angle grinder for was the front wheel well. I cut a relief at the top and bottom and folded the corner of the wheel well in. For the other side near the door I took a really big hammer and pounded it as flat as possible. Took a little bit of trial and error(front tires came off a LOT) but it just barely clears now. I've almost been driving it for a week now and it doesn't rub. I still have full lock to lock as well. I had rims with more backspacing but I wanted these ones for clearance. It worked out perfect.

The back fit really easy. I took a hammer and dolly to the door side of the fender opening and the tire bolted on. The front was the teadious part.

Here's a pic after everything was modified. Sorry its kinda a bad angle.

We just got hit by a major blizzard last weekend. I threw the driveshaft back in the car because I couldn't resist.

This things unstopable in the snow! There were solid stretches of a foot to a foot and a half of snow. The car went through it like it wasn't even there. Really large heaps of snow were a little slower but I never managed to get stuck. I live right on a residential street corner that gets a ton of snow every year. There were a few 4x4 trucks stuck out front but my car didn't even come close.

If i ever pushed it too hard I could reverse a few feet and go forward again right through everything. I'm very impressed with these tires. Low range is working really well. I pulled a few cars out including a neighbour that got stuck down the block. Hooked up and dragged him through the snow right to his house.

I went mudding with a few friends a week or two ago. These tires work really well in mud.

We all figured I blew a rear shaft but luckily it was just the way it looked. The rear drivers side tire got plugged up and started dragging the car down the trail sideways.
