This seems to be the logical forum to start a thread on using a trolley jack.
I figure that placing a trolley jack under my 05 Outback is a bit more problematic than it was with my Beetles and VW Type3s! (I still miss a real floor pan!)
What are the safe locations, if any, for lifting on the centre line of the car, so I can get both front / rear wheels in the air simultaneously, to place jack stands for removing sump guard, changing oil, examining exhaust system, etc.
e.g. Is it OK to lift under the diffs? ( I used to lift the VW rear ends under the transaxle, which is the equivalent location to the diff.)
All advice gratefully received.
