This is how my OTE Forester is shaping up.
I have the following.

Subaxtreme nudgebar.
Lightforce 170s.
OEM Foglights.
Philips 'Power 2 Nite' globes.
Rear diff guard.
Rubber mats all round.
Headlight protectors.
Bonnet protector.
Subaru wool seat inserts with Subaru throw over covers.
40x40 Tow Bar.
Tinted all round (35%)
Tinted windscreen strip (20%).Really happy with this. Drove straight into the sun the other day and didn't have to pull the visor down.
Can't forget the leather gear knob!!
Waeco 50lt fridge.
Alpine head unit with USB port so i don't have to cart around CD's

On the way/here.

Aurora F & R HD 25mm raised springs. Rears are here and fronts are being made. I am getting these re-powder coated black so they are not noticed in case of an accident.

Next.

Subaxtreme bash plate.

Hope to have the springs and bash plate fitted by the end of Dec.:)

I am doing this over a few posts as it seems to wipe me if i go too long.

I have made up my mind on the following..

Tyres...Yokohama 215/65/16s AT/S fitted on steel wheels. The alloys can stay at home. Still looking for 3 extra steels.
Brake pads, which i will have replaced before i go as i still have the originals (81,000klms!) will be Bendix Heavy Duty. These have been suggested to me after talking to the Bendix tech guy.

Possible....

DBA Steet Series slotted rotors all round. Probably not going to happen but maybe.

Might get...

Hema or VMS GPS.
Some sort of solar panel set up.

Will do...

Timing belt replacement.
Main radiator hose replacement.
Full oil change.
Full fluid change.
Rear diff breather.
Wheel alignment.
Replace OEM battery with a Super Charge Gold one.

Will get...

Fire extinguisher.
First aid kit.
Basic recovery kit.
Tyre repair kit.
Compressor.
100amp (approx) deep cycle battery to run the fridge.
New muffler. Probably just a Lukey Ultra Flo or Turbo.
And of course an Offroadsubaru sticker for the rear window!!

I'm sure the list will grow.:)

I am still unsure if i will tow a tinny and use this as a trailer or get a small camper trailer and put the boat on top of it. This week the camper tailer is winning.

I want them and they are probably ahead of the GPS on the list. I will just have to wait and see how the finances pan out. I gather they don't affect the ABS or EBD systems? I checked this out with the Bendix guy re the HD brake pads and they are a low friction pad and so are OK. A GPS would be fun but i don't see it as a vital bit of gear at the moment. Might go the Captain Cook way and just use a compass and a map. I don't think a PLB is going to get a run either.
Anybody got an email address for Subaxtreme? They don't show one on their website.

Well, i just happened to be at a customers house today doing some work and to cut a long story short he is selling a 2004 Hilux Extra Cab with a short tray back, 3ltr Turbo Diesel with 157,000ks for no more than $20,000. He has just had the timing belt done at 150,000 and it is in generally v.good nick and just needs a polish etc.
Good honest type of guy and so i got thinking that maybe it would suit my trip better to have this.
Just wondering what anyone would think my car would be worth. Dec 04 Build MY05 with the stuff as per the first post. Never been flogged and in excellant condition.
I have about 1 month to make up my mind.
