Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S any thoughts?

I think Apsilon had some on his Forester (previous car). Might be worth sending him a PM as I think he inhabits the Pajero forum more these days and might not have seen your post. I'm sure he'd be happy to offer an opinion.

I see all

Yeah I did have them and they're still on the car now that my parents have it. I really liked them. Obviously road biased but a vast improvement over the stock Geosquealers on dirt and especially gravel roads.

Only problem I had was a puncture on one but that was on road and was half a pair of scissors through the tread so I think any tyre would've been the same.

Basically I'd buy them again for a car that sees mostly road use and off road is primarily dry dirt/gravel or sand.

Many thanks Apsilon
Do they wear well?
What about road noise?

Many thanks
Paul

I must admit I haven't looked at them of late. Car is probably overdue for an alignment. I was happy with the wear when I was using them. Wasn't exceptionally good, just normal which is fine.

No appreciable road noise IMO but I'm someone that sort of thing doesn't bother so may not be the best person to comment on it. The tread pattern is road orientated so you'd expect them to be OK.

I run two sets of wheels and tyres on my Pajero, one is the OEM wheels and rubber that I use for onroad and the other is a set for offroad. I'll certainly consider these for the onroad set when the time comes. For their intended purpose I can't fault them.

Ross / Paul?

how'd you go?

I'm now about to make the decision between the stock G900 and the H/T-S.

After a lot of deliberating, I decided to go for Kumho KH15 215/60/16.
Most of my driving will be on sealed roads and they come highly recommended by a local Subaru service centre. I got them at a good price ($132 ea). I had Kumhos on a Commodore V8 and was impressed by their handling/noise level/wear. I collect them tonight, I'll keep you posted
Regards
Paul

No experience with the H/T-S but have the A/T-S's and love them.
Best tire on the road in the rain I've ever had and very capable off road.

I have the A/T-S as well as sealed-road tyres. The A/T-S has a noticably higher rolling resistance but is good off-road. However based on my experience I would say the sidewalls are soft and easily staked.

update

So far, I'm very happy with the Kumho KH15
They are quiet and very grippy

Hi everybody,

It has been a while since I last visit this forum.
I am from Rio de Janiero Brazil, I shared with you my adventure experience in my first trip on wet wear tires conditions ! pretty scary :)

I own a 98 forester and here in brazil is like a marriage without a bailout ! :)
A five year marriage now, and "wife" need new shoes !

I am considering this G051 H/T-S.
But I have a problem.
Here these tyres are expensive and hard to find (US$ 250 EACH !)
I just found the 215 size not the 205 70R 15 for my 98 forester version.

Any comments that you have about buying " large" shoes would be great apreciated !

thanks for the help
cheers
bruno
