Hay Guys just another trip report, 14 of us went camping at double island point, was a great trip with lots of good 4wdriving. The Roo loves his new shoes and I dont have one regret about paying the big bucks! It once again showed that awd is as good as 4wd and in this trip BETTER! Will show later. The weather was good and got home just intime for the wind to pick up! I got loads of pics and two videos to show. I let the BFG's down to 18 psi and they were vertually unstopable!
I went from having 33cm from the rear diff to around 29cm
The cars: My subaru, Hilux, Rav 4 and a rodeo.
The roo was backed to the roof with 2 tables, 2 tarps, 3 chairs and a sufboard on the roof carier.
Pics of the BFG's and packing:
We left Brisbane at 4:00 to get to the Twantin barge at 7:00 after stopping for breakfast.
First pics on the beach:
It took us ages to find the right campsite, we kept going in and out of them untill we were at the northern most part and found the perfect site!
The campsite sand was the black soft sort of sand which made it difficult to get in and out. here is a pic of the Rav bogged:
Here is a vid of me going into the campsite: https://s684.photobucket.com/albums/vv204/fandizzle/?action=view¤t=20090927162313.flv

Anyone who has been to double island and been on the King Bore track will know its fairly challanging with a beauty of a hill at the end. For those who dont know look up double island point subaru on google videos and it should come up. Well the stupid **** decieded theyd make the hill road so its no longer a challange. I almost cried when i saw it. Fortunately there was a bit to the right that was very steep and a good challange. The hilux had a go first and didn't even get a qaurter of the way. I had a go next and almost made it up! Everyones jaw almost dropped, the rodeo had a go and had no luck. The hilux gave it everything and didnt get up. I then had another go and flogged the roo and made it up. The sand was so dry, soft and dusty, heres the vid (excuse the commentry!):
